One of the best experiences i had in 2017. 💯
Check my bio for the limited edition screenprint. "LAST ISLAND" curated by @pangeaseed / @seawalls_ Artists for Oceans festival in Napier, New Zealand. "LAST ISLAND" - Summer and winter are inching closer, the four seasons melting together. Due to climate warming, to which we are undoubtedly contributing, polar icecaps and glaciers are shrinking. The Arctic is bound to set yet another summer melt record this year. An iceberg shouldn't have to drift past a North Sea beach, for us to realize just how close our relationship to the Arctic and Antarctic is. My mural depicts the postapocalyptic scenario of the last iceberg.

When i quit my job for painting 10 years ago you were not happy with my decision. Painting was not a real job for you. You worked in a factory for more than 40 years, you were a working class hero. Your skepticism kept me motivated.
I painted this huge portrait of you for my first exhibition to show you, how much impact a painting can have. You saw all the people they looked at my paintings and talked about it, or talked to you because they reconized you. You were proud for the first time.
You will be deeply missed. Rest in peace Baba.
I Love you ❤ Onur
