So I had "talk about my art" on my exhibition to do list... and I finally gave it a shot. I've always struggled with explaining my work and I pretty much just went on a tangent but if anyone is interested the full video link in bio. Would love to know people's thoughts. ✌️

Shida's work explores the relationship between Ritual, Sexuality and Love. Psychedelic entities are entwined in ceremonial acts, transcending the bounds of known reality. In a world where society’s issues are becoming increasingly gendered and people are seemingly more divided than ever due to the rise of identity politics, Shida seeks to turn this tide like an ancient shaman with each works being in essence an invocation, an energetic manifestation, a prayer to joy.
Art has historically served to either support and express the dominant values of the times or to challenge them. In the contemporary era a new ideological paradigm has emerged, in which antiquated ideas contend with Postmodernism’s rejection of meta narratives and the resulting fallout. In his latest exhibition “New Meaning" Shida attempts to transcend this dichotomy by portraying a “New” Mythology that can be seen as an expression of a positive “New” Tradition.
