‘‘L’esprit Nouveau’ [Completed June, 2016]
Maison des Buttes of Villeneuve in Grenoble, France.
11 stories. Roughly 27 meters x 15 meters.
Painted in participation of @grenoblestreetartfest and @spacejunkartcenters with support by Actis and the Mayor of Grenoble.
Villeneuve, originally built in 1972, a housing complex designed and built on
theories of 'utopia' and 'the radiant city’. The location of 50 Gallery Harlequin is under a major rehabilitation, worth over 8.6 million Euros, which is led by Actis to improve the quality of life, reduce energy consumption, open the village to the city. This major upgrade prefigures the renovation of the entire neighborhood Arlequin in the coming years. This mural commission comes to give a final touch to the renovation of the building.

Workflow, [Completed in September, 2017]
Acrylic polymer on drywall and exposed cement.
Interior lobby of the C3 creative space campus designed by @gensler_design
5800 Bristol Parkway, Culver city, CA.
Commissioned by IDS realty.
I created this mural installation in dialogue with the staircase, so that both
mural and staircase became seamless parts of the building’s whole. I played off of
the staircase’s ascending steps and the 37° angle of its rails, creating diamond-
like reactions that crisscross and traverse the space. Fractals bounce off their
respective shapes, like ideas in a think tank, manifesting the ethic of worksflow:
a harmony of orchestrated and repeated systems of business activity. The rhythmic
interlocution of shapes and patterns represents trajectory, technology and
expansion, a visual manifestation of creative collaborations to come.

This was my first true trip to Mexico as well as my introduction to the work of Smithe and Dhear. I was quite taken back by their graciousness and talent as they both poses an indicative style and fantastic painting technique all their own. I always felt like this colab fell to the wayside as far as attention goes. It still is one of my favorite 3 man pieces to date. __________________________________________________

Thank you for the reminder, @CarlosLoslito @MilesTackettMusic.
Had the great pleasure of knowing Dusk through my time as a partygoer at the @therootdown, then having the opportunity to paint portraits of musicians the DJ’s would play live on stage. Here are some remembrance illustrations I made for the family and crew in 2007 based on photos by @azul213 and @malakinetics.
SERCH was a rare breed of human. Yes, he was a Los Angeles graffiti legend, successfully handling pretty much every single aspect of the art form since the early 90’s. He WAS an historian, an anthropologist, collector of ephemera, a draftsman and a kindred spirit. The man always gave me love and passed me his top hand-made gems every time we crossed paths. And not the postal stickers, but the repurposed, handmade ’street intended’ slaps. They are works of art, as was the man. Rest In Power, SERCH and my condolences to your family, friends and extended crew.
