Words with the curator Chiara Pietropaoli.
On why Mercy.
Mercy has always been a necessary emotion, that’s been practiced by few and yearned by many. If we look back at our history there has always been this constant battle for power and resources, where the strongest fight amongst each other for total control and the less privileged fight to survive at their mercy.
Mercy, explores this human conflict in the form of a metaphor. When I was young growing up, I have vivid memories of stray-dogs viciously fighting for food scraps on the streets. This metaphor is one of the ways I'm able to relate to our current political, racial and current state as human beings.
Thanks to our hand model Mike and to my brother @ddwyn for all his help and support producing this installation
Mercy is now open. This exhibition would of not been possible without the help and support of these people, it's been a long month full of work and hurdles. Thank to @galleriavarsi for enduring this process and the staff for all the help during this long process.
