Tonight my son asked if he could have some OJ and I said let me show you how it's made first. After peeling the orange and squeezing he still said I want the kind you and mom drink. The crazy part is that it it never crossed my mind that I haven't offered my kids oranges before and I make them fresh smoothies every other day. It has been almost five years since I have peeled an orange because I stopped buying them after my grandmother passed about five years ago. She had this tree in her backyard that used to produce the best oranges (not kidding) ever. I remember when I moved up to the bay I would give some to friends and they agreed too. The whole family used to come to my grandmas house to grab a few for their own family. My uncle who works in produce said it was the craziest thing because the tree was so old and always looked like it was going to die but I think it was the love we had for the tree that kept it producing fruit for the family. When she passed and it was time for the siblings to sell the house I honestly wanted to buy the house with my dad just to keep eating those trees but I wasn't looking at the bigger picture. I hope the tree is still alive. 4728 E Braly Ave Fresno, CA ✊🏽💂🏼
