community. last night my neighbors all joined to have dinner (and not watch the debate). what started three years ago with about 50 people has now turned to over 150. the idea is simple one person makes a HUGE pot of sauce and who ever comes brings pasta and a side to share (and some drank!). I try to explain to others I know who live here in SF on the relationship I have with my neighbors because you would think that living in a densely populate city everyone is closer and knows one another but I hear the opposite. I was raised knowing the people on my block and knocking on my neighbors door to borrow and egg or milk was no problem. this photo shows that the spirit is still alive. our kids may not play in the streets but we have alleys for this reason. ✊🏽
completed project with @samrodriguezart in SF, CA (mission + onodaga). Sam and I have had the conversation of doing a collaboration for about seven years now but we finally made it happen. The response from the people in the community was certified credit we made the right decision.
my little trooper. all three of my kids were sick including my wife and I while painting this mural but that didn't stop them from stopping by to check out the progress. every time they came by to say hello it was the just what I needed. shoutout to sam for working with my crazy schedule and to my wife for holding down the fort while under the weather. 📸: @kenihanas
