family business. I remember my parents telling me stories of when they worked in the fields with their siblings to help out the family. Looking back now they are grateful for the times they shared together. The work I do now is in no way a comparison to what my parents experienced but I'm fortunate to have my family participate first hand in what I do. ✊🏽🙏🏽✊🏽
This past June I contributed artwork for @wired magazine and shortly after they asked if they could use the art for their pop up Cafe at this years Comic-con in San Diego (swipe right to see images). I accepted the offer but wanted to change the art used due to how the artwork would be applied. What took me five hours to paint was handed over to @stephaniejung and turned into this (13 minutes of a 25 hour process), taking my work from lolog to digital.
staying busy. I enjoy working under a deadline wether it be an outdoor project or in the studio. this is usually caused by me having to get my ass home to help my wife with the kids. Working on these plaster paintings is another way of working against time as I have to finish the composition before it drys out. I could keep it wet but the stress helps and keeps me from overthinking.
