Not one to post pics of food so it was a coin toss between today's full moon or this homemade carrot cake (and frosting!) my wife and kids surprised me with when I came home today. Nobody in my house eats carrot cake so I got down to say the least. Happy Birthday to me! ✊🏽🙏🏽✊🏽
I remember being a little kid and stealing the cherry tomatoes from the salad bar at straw hat pizza. Then my mom planted some in our yard for us to have. Now I have my own to pick and eat with my kids. Here's my first batch! 🙏🏽
"Practice lookin hard". For some reason that song popped in my head posting this image.
happy home. I was told by a studio mate of mine that the reaction of the person who found this piece was priceless and the excitement he expressed made her happy that I give away my work every now and then. when the response are truly genuine and grateful it causes me to forget about all the negativity going on for a split second and understand the power of art. Its awesome to have those of you hustling to get these pieces and I will always keep this as a part of my work ethic so that both of us can have a story to tell. @sdot_kris told you it was a large piece thank you for taking a chance and driving across town. ✊🏽🙏🏽✊🏽
a little galley of things I made from 1994 (stained glass) to 2004 (portrait of my mom). Shout out to my parents for holding onto these in their house. 🙏🏽😘🙏🏽
my niece is next level.
double days. after being up for 23 hours and working in the studio since 6am I did the unthinkable (for me at least) and completed painting this piece. I even managed to break away for a few hours to attend my boys back to school event, wrestle with my kids and read to my daughter before putting her to bed before heading back to the studio. I'm reminded of a conversation I had with a fellow artist I went to art school with. We were talking about how when your younger all you do is worry about how you are going to have enough ideas to create and if you will succeed as a creative. But when you decide to really take this art this seriously creating isn't the hard part, it's taking on what life throws at you and how you manage to balance and create at the same time while pushing forward. I'm tryin my best. ✊🏽
