18’ sculpture going to my friend @tshupeinc ‘s new building in China !
I call these sculptures neo-megaliths . They attempt to summarize contemporary paradigm shifts in technology and culture into a form that feels ancient and timeless. This figure is a modern interpretation of the Janus myth, except this figure looks every which way in order to prepare itself for the future, a future which it creates for itself. The figure in the sculpture is a self perpetuating one, a looming cylinder dangles a thread above the figure, allowing the figure to reinvent, reknit, retransform itself into whatever it may need to become. While cast out of bronze, that sculpture is emblematic of the fluid ability to change and adapt and transform- of constant evolution and iterative growth. It is our hope that audiences, whether they be young or old, or from this time or another, will be able to see this sculpture as a that piece that using timeless methods of casting to articulate a new era in manufacturing.
