Still probably one of my favorite projects and pieces, done with @urbannationberlin back in 2015. On the side of the now first URBAN ART MUSEUM!! I can't thank Yasha Young enough for all she has done for me and the amazing projects I've gotten to be a part of. Super proud of my Fairy Goth Mother for all the incredible things she has accomplished which come to fruition for the opening of the museum doors TODAY! It looks amazing! Process photos by the always awesome @nikakramer
From a small but wonderful project in Helsingør, Denmark I recently completed. The Vapnagaard Tunnel project is for a large public housing complex located on the outskirts of town. For the opposite side of the tunnel leading back to the complex, I based the imagery on the social history of the area. Immigration and the pursuit of peace has a deep rooted history in Vapnagaard. Groups from Turkey, Palestine and Syria are among those who have left their homes to find a place of belonging here. The references come from local residents who are descendants from or are recent migrants. Traveling through harsh conditions to find a better future, this portion of the wall speaks to the struggles of millions.
From a small but wonderful project in Helsingør, Denmark I recently completed. Exploring the theme of local natural history further, the King's hunt lead to horses galloping. The area became grazing land for wild danish horses and later farming land which hosted stables for work horses.
Pretty excited about finishing this piece today. Thought I'd share a little snippet, fitting for the the day. Happy Halloween!! This piece will be on view for 'Heist' a group show at @juddyroller gallery in Melbourne.
😳🌌What a pic by
@discover_churchill of my piece in Churchill! Project with @pangeaseed @seawalls_
Some more views of 'Returning To The Soil' at Fairview Elementary in Denver Colorado. Almost as happy with the backboards and rims as I am with the wall ⛹🏽 Done with the good people of @therawproject_
'Returning to the Soil'
My latest wall done with @therawproject_ out in Denver, Colorado. A really special project that works at bringing art to schools in underserved areas all across the US. Places that really need it. Doing a project like this, where art becomes a backdrop for the kids' everyday has been really important to me. One of the kids came up to me on the last day and said while looking at the piece, "She's black isn't she, I like that, she looks like me". Thanks to the people of Fairview Elementary School for making me feel so welcome.
From a small but wonderful project in Helsingør, Denmark I recently completed. The Vapnagaard Tunnel project is for a large public housing complex located on the outskirts of town. For one side of the tunnel I painted a scene relating to the natural history of the place which use to be old growth forests and the Danish King's hunting grounds. Depicted here is a king's hunt with his hounds leading away from the complex and dissipating into the surrounding area. A massive thank you to @lizsaiu for this great project and to the wonderful people of Vapnagaard.
Collaborative mural with @adnate for the @thebushwickcollective
Following the mural @adnate painted in 2015 of a Tibetan boy in Bushwick, we decided to keep that theme alive. Celebrating the Tibetan people and the survival of their culture, one portion depicts a Tibetan refugee Adnate photographed in India, with a Buddhist Mandela painted by @lastnight_collective . For my portion I chose to paint a snow leopard. Not just an important symbol of Tibet but a metaphor of the plight both the species and cultures face amid extinction and oppression. Tibet, 2nd to Syrians, are the most oppressed population in the world today. Awareness about Tibet has been raised but to little avail. The world needs increasing pressure as the amount of oppressed grow. Massive thanks to @montanacans @montanacans_usa for the paint support on this.
Working on a collaboration with my pal and crew mate @adnate at the @thebushwickcollective ! Such a good shot by @pixelatedstreets
