I am pleased to report that my body of work will be staying in London, including this drawing of 'Rich' a homeless man who is often seen begging in Leeds. The artworks will be show in the Cheese Grater building, via the Aon Community Arts Awards.
Social issues are often catalyst for my work. The use of mimesis provides me with a vehicle, describing factual & controversial issues through imitation, particularly when they rely on accuracy & honesty. Mimesis is used to create an important rational dimension and within this work, it's used as a means of identification, resulting in a correspondence with others.
Having a homeless man in such a prestigious and corporate environment.... A political statement, I am delighted.
