Right now Im in Chile working inside my school's gymnasium in Santiago, Chile.
I graduated from high school in 93' and now Im back as a painter to decorate it. We never had this facility when my generation was in the school, but we have "la cancha" (the futbol field) and La Cancha was surrounded by walls. Every year the school had a week of playful competitions between grades where one of the many tasks was to paint a mural piece on the walls. Those walls are the first place where me and my classmate (bff) created our first own murals in 91. La cancha still exists but the walls are dark green and they have no art. Instead, the streets of the city are more painted as ever before and it seems it will get way more in the upcoming years. The crazy fact is that people gets along with it and its part of our city culture.
